      <title>Updates to the Connecticut State Building Code (28 May 2026)</title>

&lt;p style="line-height: 22px;"&gt;Join us Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Lorenzo's Ristorante Italiano in West Haven for a discussion led by Tom DiBlasi of DiBlasi Associates, P.C. on the upcoming changes to the Connecticut State Building Code.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="line-height: 22px;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 16px;"&gt;A new Connecticut State Building Code is scheduled to be adopted this summer, and it will be based on the 2024 I-Codes.&amp;nbsp; This presentation will highlight changes to the Connecticut-specific structural amendments, and it will also provide an overview of significant changes to the IBC, IEBC, and ASCE 7-22.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="line-height: 22px;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 16px;"&gt;Tom is President of DiBlasi Associates, P.C., and has been practicing structural engineering for over 40 years.&amp;nbsp; He is the structural engineering representative to the CT Codes and Standards Committee, and he is co-chair of SEAConn’s Code Advisory Committee as well as a past President.&amp;nbsp; He is the past chair of NCSEA’s Code Advisory Committee, and he continues to serve of the Wind Engineering Subcommittee of that group.&amp;nbsp; He is also a current director of the Applied Technology Council.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="line-height: 22px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The meeting will be hosted at Lorenzo's Ristorante Italiano located at 39 Elm Street in West Haven, CT 06516 on Thursday May 28th, from 5:30 pm to 9pm&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="line-height: 22px;"&gt;Cost of attendance is for SEAConn Members is $75.00.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="margin-bottom: 0px !important; line-height: 22px;"&gt;Nonmember price is $85.00.&lt;/p&gt;
